Key Stage 1 Fitness Sessions

The pupils really enjoyed the fitness session – especially going into the jungle (monkey, etc.) They learnt how to keep themselves healthy- exercise lots and encouraged to eat fruits and vegetables.–R. Underwood, Slinfold C of E Primary School, Hillingdon (years R-6)

Our fun group fitness sessions are designed to motivate, inspire and engage all children with healthy messages enforced throughout the session via stories and games, highlighting the importance of healthy choices and regular exercise.

Lead by your A-life coach, the children will be taken through a fun, well-paced 30 minutes of jungle trails, Olympic activities and short games, combining fitness with numeracy and the learnings from the healthy workshop earlier in the day in a very active and fun exercise session. Also a great fitness session to excite and inspire school kids about the Olympics.

  • Approx. 25-30 minutes
  • Up to 65 pupils per session (dependent on size of area)

How the session runs

Appropriate footwear (or bare feet) and clothing to be worn (and no parents are allowed for safety reasons)

 

Learning Outcomes

The fitness games help children to develop good listening, following instructions, spatial awareness, numeracy, aerobic fitness, balance, co-ordination. As well as making exercise fun for all abilities.
