Thank you for letting me take part in the A-life challenge. A-life you’re the best.–child from Parkwood school
I don’t have to force myself to do exercise because I can do it in a fun way–child from St Anselm’s Primary School
The Follow-on Challenge:
The Follow-On Challenge is an initiative to maintain and foster children’s interest in what they have learnt during the A-life healthy school day. The exercise challenge is for pupils to complete in their own time for 7-21 days. The current follow on challenge requires children to record their exercise habits when not at school. When they have successfully completed the Follow-On Challenge, they receive a Certificate of Achievement to reward their effort.
The class teacher sets the class challenge (i.e. time and number of days). A parent/adult should then sign each day to confirm that the exercise has been done. Completed challenges are given to the class teacher and the school total totted up. The coordinator should then call or email A-life with the number of certificates required and we will send these straight out to you.
The 2012 Challenge
In the new year the challenge will be changing to an interactive online quiz and healthy habit questionnaire that follows on from the healthy school workshop & fitness day. The idea is to educate children and family members together by scoring how their healthy habits are going and teaching them more about their bodies.
